Paul Martin tells fairy tails...

I was watching a re-run on Peter Mansbridge One on One with Paul Martin last night.
The fact that Peter let a parent of 4 stand up and say his wife gave up a teaching job to stay at home with her children was WONDERFUL. The parent goes on to say what are you going to do to help our tax situation?
Paul Martin explains that there is something in place right now that helps stay at home parents. WHERE? I've never seen it. Come on someone tell me please!
He also goes on to understand that something needs to be done. Peter mentions split income. Paul says, oh yes I worked on that as finance minister. Peter says so it could work and Paul goes GREY. He changed the subject quickly back to individual taxes and says well "we're not there yet", regarding stay at home parents unfair tax brackets.
You know what, I learned he made the same quote to Beverly Smith in 1999 with the same type of question.
Well its been 7 years and he's still not there.
I would like to thank Peter Mansbridge for asking this question since we all know the media runs away back Liberal territoy when anyone mentions this.

There was also a very interesting article, my wonderful neighbor brought to my attention. It is Rob Wells in McLeans Magazine.

It is "Why Paul Martin has to go",

He goes on to say:
"This was a hard campaign to blow. So if the Liberals lose, Paul Martin will have to go. If they win he will have to go too.

He proposed a handgun ban that wouldn't ban handguns. A wait-time guarantee that wouldn't guarantee wait times. An amendment to a constitutional provision no federal government has ever used. A unilateral amendment the federal government could not deliver unilaterally. He stood in a room-ful of children in New Brunswick to announce a daycare commitment that will not begin until 2009-as if he could commit, not the government we are about to elect, but the one after that."

So will Paul Martin ride off into the sunset with his trusty groupy at his side Belinda Stronach?

Or will Belinda get bored and run off in the middle of the night with Jack Layton and his private health, care debit card?

When Paul Martin stood beside Buzz Hargrove, as he encouraged Quebecers to vote for the Bloc, thats when the wheels came off.

It became so clearly apparent that he'd say anything to stay in power, that not a single rational person could consider voting for a Liberal.
